HIGH FIVES!
Starring: Joan, Carrie and Natassia as sign holders, and Yangchen as our High Fiver.
"Volunteer" Camera work: Adam
Our group decided to redo Improv Everywhere's High Five Escalator. We initially planned on doing our intervention in the Rec. Center, but unfortunately we arrived at 9 am and there was little to no foot traffic coming through. We decided to move the project to Neuberger Hall to see if we could get at least a few people to participate.
We had a little luck, and even implemented some sign shaking to at least get people to look at our signs, but we didn't really get anywhere near as many participants as we needed to be somewhat comparable to a NY subway. We noticed that a lot of people walking through were hesitant to walk past us because they thought we were doing some sort of photo shoot, so we had to do a little bit of coaxing in order to get people to even walk past us.
We then ended up moving to Smith Memorial Student Union near the cafeteria. There was much more foot traffic coming through, and we were much more successful there. People seemed to be a lot more willing to at least look at the signs.
In all I'd say Yangchen got about 30 high fives, which isn't anywhere near the 2,000 Rob got from Improv Everywhere, but for the PSU campus it was pretty successful.
